The First World War Centenary Battlefield Tours Programme, a free government initiative managed by UCL Institute of Education and school tour provider Equity, gives two students and one teacher from every state maintained school in England teaching Key Stage 3 and/or 4, a deeper understanding of The Great War.

Running through to spring 2019, the Programme combines a 4-day visit to the Western Front with professional development that challenges teachers to think critically about how they teach the subject
